87% of Americans Say Tax the Wealthy More to Protect Social Security Benefits

Even most Republicans agree with this

A new survey from the National Academy of Social Insurance finds that most Americans want to do just that. When survey respondents were asked how they felt about the statement “It is critical to preserve Social Security even if it means increasing Social
Security taxes paid by wealthy Americans,” 87 percent of them agreed, with 62 percent of them strongly agreeing.

It’s worth noting that this number includes even 71 percent of self-identified Republicans (and 86 percent of self-identified independents).

and yet the main stream media whores and their corporate pimps continue with their full court press to dismantle the safety net in the name of 'reform'.These types of articles and polls should be blasted all over DU and other forums day after day until they get the picture.

A good percentage of Conservative Democrats (New Democrats) are helping.
They are a more serious threat than the Media or Republicans.

When was the last time you have heard someone in the Democratic Party Leadership
make a statement as strong as this one on protecting Social Security?

with any joy or hope in our lives. What about now? The lower class, middle class, homeless, being drug through the economic dirt need relief now. By the time I will need social security I will be spent and bereft. I'm already feeling that way.
