What a bizarre place: Cop killers and those flipping off judges are the new folk heroes here.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Warren Stupidity (a host of the General Discussion forum).

What does this say about the people here? But I would hope that there are others like me still left. Would appreciate a shout out if you think that some deserve punishment, not praise, for their actions.

But DU is a very big place, so it's not unexpected that some had misplaced ideals.
The cop killer is a maniac.
The girl who said "fuck you" to a judge is a brat who hopefully learned a valuable lesson.

You may have seen the link on his background.

The killer cop/cop killer is a bad man for killing people. He is also claiming a pattern of racism and corruption in LAPD and he names names. That might be worth looking into.

11. Organize action to get him kicked off the bench then
Thu Feb 7, 2013, 03:32 PM

Or engage in civil disobedience. Everybody facing him should flip him off. But those who engage in civil disobedience know they will be arrested. You can't just determine somebody is a "prick" so it's OK to do it and no consequences are warranted because it is deserved.

And I think that this just hurts any investigation into the LAPD because the charges were made by a rogue homicidal maniac.

He has a history of aggressive, obnoxious behavior.

I doubt the young woman in this case was engaging in civil disobedience, just being kind of dumb and unthinking.

And, yes, I agree that LAPD will probably sweep that manifesto under the rug and discredit his allegations. But they are pretty specific and name names. I hope somebody will look into it.

But shooting people and threatening to shoot more may not be the best way to go about it.
Hopefully, he will be caught alive and be able to explain himself.
But not many will shed tears if he goes down shooting.

As for the judge, who cares if he is a prick? In this matter, he is right.
There is a way to act in a courtroom and a way not to act.
That holds for everyone whether they are a judge, defendant, lawyer or a member of the audience.
She acted inappropriately and got slapped down for it.
Deservedly so.

Thu Feb 7, 2013, 04:16 PM
Feb 2013

The judge was not a prick, and was not aggressive as some have charged. The girl was stoned out of her mind; couldn't stand still or answer simple questions. She clearly lied when she told the judge she hadn't taken any drugs in the last 24 hours. She mocked the judge with her smart-assed "adios" comment as she left for the first time. That was probably enough for contempt in some judges' courts. Then she added insult to injury by saying "fuck you" and flipping him off as she left for the second time. She got what she deserved. Maybe she'll sober up during her stay in jail.

We respect the institution, regardless of the individual working therein.

I can't imagine why anyone would support or defend the cop killer. If that's happening on DU I haven't seen it.

As for flipping the judge the bird, the young woman who did that is paying the price for her impulsive and foolish behavior. Anyone who acts like that in a courtroom is asking for trouble and is going to get it.

There is a part of me that likes the fact that she flipped off the judge, because so many of them are assholes.

I went up before a judge in Kentucky, for a traffic violation, who treated me like shit from the get-go. Why? Because I had long hair and tinted glasses. To him I looked like a dope smoking hippie who deserved his contempt. The guy who was up before me was a local who got drunk and punched his wife, and he got off easier than I did for my traffic violation. I didn't flip the judge the bird or tell him to go fuck himself, but I sure wanted to.
