I regard fugitive Christopher Dorner as a very remote threat, but tonight I will arm myself

If he gets past my Attack Cats, he'll have to deal with a wild-eyed database developer armed with a Ruger 10/22 rifle and a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver.

Once he is captured or killed by the police, I will put my weapons back in the gun safe along with my baseball card collection and classic porn mags.

maybe a month back or so i was driving and they closed off a section of the fwy i was on with a bunch of cops going around searching for some guys who robbed some bank or something. i wasn't scared even then, even with the cops with their guns out going around.

it could just be because of living in the la area we always have crap going on.

i'm get more scared of things like driving while it's raining.

It was a vehicle. It had tires. Apparently that was close enough for them to assume Dorner was in it, so they shot the holy heck out of it--and the women.

Some years ago an escapee from prison raped three women in my home town including the wife and daughter of our family physician who lived several blocks away. In addition he abducted two women. The National Guard, Highway Patrol, several sheriff agencies, including several helicopters looked for him for three days. When I came home to visit the second day my mother was sitting in the kitchen with a short barreled single shot 12 gage on the kitchen table. The hammer was pulled back and there was a slug in the chamber sitting on kitchen table pointed at the side door. Her second round was OO buck shot I freaked we put the shotgun up and I thanked God there was no collateral damage. My brother set up our Mothers self defense strategy we had a long talk afterward in that she did not know exactly how this worked.

Stay safe.

Relatively tight pattern at 10-15 yards and limited penetration will decrease chance of shooting through plaster board walls but still plenty of stopping power. And even in the dark you will not miss the rabid raccoon in the backyard, a far more likely threat than any intruder.
