LAPD have been shooting to kill since the first minute of this debacle, unloading 64 bullets at two women, and shot up two more suspects, all of whom utterly failed to be a 280 pound black man (heavily armed). They purposely burned the cabin without knowing anything about who might be inside. It is unfortunately possible that this is true, and in my experience of LAPD, they'd work to cover it up if it were.
