Did anybody else see PBS/Frontline's GOP hit piece "Cliffhanger?"

I watched it last night, and was frankly appalled and outraged at what I perceived as being little more than an establishment GOP hit piece against President Obama. This "documentary" -- if indeed you can even call it that -- accepted establishment Republican talking points regarding the debt and deficit as if those points were indisputable facts in a very obvious effort to smear the President and Democrat. It also was clearly trying to portray the Tea Party element of the party as being the source of all its problems, thus creating the appearance that it is only establishment Republicans who are "serious" about the issue. It was simply disgusting -- something worthy of Fox News or Breitbart.com, not PBS.

Here's a link, if you can stomach it: http://video.pbs.org/video/2334346348

NPR/PBS just wants to present "both sides." You know, the truth and the "other side." mountain grammy Feb 2013 #4

There was a time when Frontline was must see tv for me. Last night when I flipped by it I figured it was going to be exactly what you described. Passed on it without giving it a second thought.

Obviously the constant threats of defunding NPR and PBS are having the effect that the Republicans intended. So what you get now is a James O'Keefe brand of journalism on Frontline. Along with the Steve Inskeeps and Scott Simons on NPR.

Pick your station according to your timezone.

I like Ian Masters, Democracy Now and some other great shows.

They are to pro-Palestine and anti-Israel for me, but other than that, they have great shows. KPFK is our local station. It has or had a good folk music show on the weekend that I enjoyed too when I had time to listen to it.

a reporter for the Washington Post that leads their propaganda campaign regarding the deficit. The Post by the way has an irregular relationship with the Pete Peterson Foundation, which is intent on destroying Social Security.

See Media Matters for information about Lori Montgomery's "reporting":

My question is, do I continue to donate to my local NPR and PBS? It's not just that I disagree with some of their programming. I often disagree with opinions based on facts, but when opinions are based on lies, well, that's why I don't watch Fox.
