2. Yep, I remember this bit on the Jackie Gleason show.

I was a kid and then teen ager, but I watched faithfully with my parents every time the show was on! A couple of other favorites from that time......Ed Sullivan and the Red Skelton Show. Never missed them!

I hadn't thought of those characters in a long time. We used to watch the show every week when I was growing up. My favorite show of the genre was Red Skelton.

9. TV at it's best IMHO--Gleason was a true genius! Husband and I bought a bunch of "The Honeymooners"

shows and we never get tired of watching them. Thanks for sharing a great memory. BTW, how about Jackie as The Poor

10. One of my favorite Gleason characters

One of my favorite Gleason characters was The Poor Soul, done completely in pantomime. It was a testament to his genius in physical comedy.
