Thanks D.U. for Free Speech on Occupy!

I personally no longer believe a word the M$M has to say about any Occupy event. They lied their asses off in NYC until videos of unprovoked brutality surfaced on Youtube. On D.U., I get to hear the truth, often from people who are there as it happens. And it is to D.U.s credit that they continue to let the truth be spoken, even though Occupy has its own identity seperate from the Democratic party. I offer my heartfelt thanks and appreciation, as a proud and grateful member of the D.U. community.

A handful of people who show up on every Occupy related thread toshow their "concern" that it is "hurting the progressive cause", whateverinhell that is. They shall henceforward be referred to as "provos"to avoid upsetting any hardworking spelling teachers who may be reading. Cee? Ah kan spel!

The blame doesn't lie with the people living in their parents basements, the blame goes way higher up.

Are mostly very young people, coming out of school and finding out there is no future for them. Unlike myself, who got to live the American dream and watched helplessly as the 1% bastards sent it to India and China to fatten their wallets, these kids see their whole lives ahead of them with no future, and unlike us tired old farts, say "NO! I WILL LAY MY BODY DOWN BEFORE I WILL ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS"! And they are paying for it - in broken bones, in burned out maced eyes, in jail time. And to those who dare call themselves progressive and mock these brave people...you are not even worthy of derision Go pat yourselves right on the yellow stripe that runs down your backs.

It is the truth as I see it.I am not sitting in a jail cell being tortured. I have not had my eyes burned out of my head with mace. I do not have to go from a promising career ala Scott Olsen to having to live with a speech impediment for life and other problems because some coward who never served a day in his countrys service shot me point blank in the forehead with a "non-lethal" round. It's the least I can do. These brave people are suffering and bleeding for the America I once believed in.

Wow, this is a post I would imagine reading at Free Republic, not at DU. Why so hostile to OWS?
