It was state Capitalism. The government acted as a capitalist as opposed to private investors, but it was not socialism.

The US. We have a political party here that advocates AGAINST higher wages, against healthcare, against education, and against workers rights. That would lead exactly to THAT type of economy.

I'm trying to think of an economic system that didn't have slavery, and I'm coming up blank.

15. Paying a living wage would greatly help U.S. capitalism lose its 'slavery' stigma.
