General Discussion

I hope you realize that you're getting your news from a source that showed altercations in Madison last winter during the protests. The only problem was that there were leafed-out palm trees in the background.
These people simply make up shit for people whose discriminatory powers are too weak to allow them to comprehend how thoroughly they are being had, lied to, and manipulated.
You do know that the amount of information people have about the world is inversely related to the amount of time they spend watching Fox, right?
And the world would be much better off if Rush stayed in the Dominican Republic with his little underaged male prostitutes, his Viagra and his Oxycontin.
You remember when Rush lost his voice? The real story behind that was that a pagan Druid put a curse on him that caused him to choke up when he started to tell a lie. However, it soon became apparent that Rush was incapable of saying anything true, so the Druid, being an excessively kind-hearted soul, lifted the curse and permitted him to go back to his despicable polluting of the public airwaves.

something akin to 7 year-olds talking about Quantum Mechanics.
How fucking depressing...
...but then there's people like you and DU members that helps clear the air and bring some sanity to it all.

(18,640 posts)and your last paragraph is no less fantastic than some of the RW emails I see in my inbox.
My republican friends will believe anything that shows up in their email and pass it on like some internet postmaster general.
When they say not to believe everything you read on the internet, I believe they mean my email. The Democrats discovered the power of the internet during the Dean campaign while Republicans have spent the time since mastering the art of the hoax email.
I swear, I don't recall getting frivolous left wing emails when Buxh was in office, so it's a Republican thing. I think Democrats get suspicious when there's no credible link at the bottom.

(8,666 posts)most of the general public actually support the standard Dem platform - when they get asked directly without any of the buzz words they've been taught to associate with their hate like Pavlovian dogs.
So the RW has to use the bullshit in their emails to keep ringing that bell. Their actual policies suck and they can't have folks openly questioning them when they're supposed to be trained to accept them as gospel truth
