Recent Polls Suggest Calling Someone a Republican is an Insult

From The Allegiant;

Breaking News: Recent polls suggest the majority of Americans consider being called “Republican” insulting.

The independent political polling company NSON Opinion Strategy 1 recently published the results of a case study in which 250,000 randomly selected American voters were asked a series of questions. The details of how and where the study was conducted have yet to be released but the results are clear: 87% of Americans consider the word “Republican” to be synonymous with greed, racism, and violence.

Mr. Nixon in the last seven days has called me an economic ignoramus, a Pied Piper, and all the rest. I've just confined myself to calling him a Republican, but he says that is getting low.~ John F. Kennedy

Our own NBachers said this and I agree:

Republicans serve The Beast.

From the dawn of mankind they are the regressive element that's been holding back and destroying our civilization. They nourish other-dimensional entities that feed on misery, pain, and chaos.

Republicans are their minions, and hope to share in these entities' power, or be spared the pain.

But The Beast never shares; The Beast never spares.

It's either that or they've made a deal with evil aliens to pillage the planet and move to a home somewhere else.

Get rid of the EPA? Keystone Pipeline? Really?

Just sayin'

tea party crazies and big time conservatives. The republican party once had somewhat of an ideology based more on faith rather than science for sure, but a unifying ideology which sought on its face at least to do good for mankind. When it was totally taken over by the billionaires, they needed something to hide their selfish greed and control of the party. First they invented a political economic theory-supply side economics which was not based on any evidence, just the necessity to protect the rich rulers. When that failed they turmned vast sums of their money to direct the ignorants against their own needs. Remeber the cries of the ignorants when they said Government keep your hands off my social security. Now we are supposed to believe that there are a group of purist conservatives, almost libertarians who really do not want to control our schools, our bedrooms, our lives, except when it is necessary to attract fundamentalist voters and protect the rich rulers of the party. Why is approval so high. I think it must be family tradition and ignorance combined with nostalgia. Come to think of it that seemed to be Romney's message.

repaired. I pulled into the drive following an arrow pointing to the service center. When I pulled in there was another truck pointed directly toward me. I paid no attention to the vehicle and waited for the service adviser to come to the truck and write up the information. My appointment was for 9 and I was a few minutes earlier. One of the attendant rapped on my window and asked if I would move and I said I was waiting for my adviser. He pointed to the truck in front of me which I now noticed had a young white male in it who looked very angry. I pointed toward the arrow showing I was in the right spot, but nevertheless when the attendant moved the vehicle behind me, I backed up so the angry young white male could get out. This gentlemanly person gunned his truck, cursed me and sped out of the garage and it was at that point, as I told my daughter, I called him a nasty word. Yes, indeed, I called him in a loud voice, "Republican".

The Allegiant link for this article says "Posted by Michael Caldwell on Feb 19 2013. Filed under Front Page, Humor."
I was about to post a link to this and quote in my local paper, but was suspicious that the Allegiant article provided no direct link, other than to a general page for NSON Opinion Strategy. I've designed political research polls myself, and no way in the world does anyone have the impossibly huge sample of 250,000. So I googled this claimed survey and the only links I found were ones quoting The Allegiant.
I will file this under too good to be true. It seems lately a lot of news sources and reporters have been taken in by Onion-type articles which were perceived to be true. Maybe you all knew right away it was a joke, but I was taken in until I did my own due diligence.

54. News flash: Being a Republican has been insulting for years
Thu Feb 21, 2013, 09:02 AM
Feb 2013

To the rest of the world. Others are just now figuring it out apparently.

Being a Republican means you're part of the world frequented by the likes of Rush Limpbaugh, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and the rest of the idiots who spew forth lies, misinformation, bigotry, and hatred.

Republicans in Congress have two standards, one for themselves and one for everyone else. They accept no responsibility for the damage their policies have caused, and most Americans realize where the blame lies when it comes to the deficit, spending, and the slow economy. The GOP can't hide their track record, and they depend on under-informed, low information voters to stay in office.

I would think being identified as a Republican today would also be very embarrassing, proof that a person is not capable of thinking for themselves, and they rely on people like Limpbaugh, Palin, etc. for information, even though they've been documented liars for years.

But there is a pretty damned strong resemblance in just how they put their blinders on and goose-step in lock step to take down this President.
