(11,700 posts)My girlfriend is into watching English TV shows at the moment. Some of them show it all.

(8,217 posts)I saw some, but they have it in those pixel censors.

(15,189 posts)As a matter of fact, hopefully some day cable companies will cater to your home. I have no children, so why should I have to watch TV with censorship for 12 year olds ALL the time? Customers should be able to choose unedited TV. I don't like porn, but watching the Daily Show with beeps is ridiculous. We ALL have to watch TV for 12 year olds.

(13,585 posts)Europeans have a problem with it, is the issue.

(8,303 posts)What business has an American political forum in worrying about nudity standards on European TV. If they are happy, well and good. If not, I think they can change it without our assistance.
The next phase of the "Ugly American" - worldwide censorship, enforced by drones????

(1,426 posts)I saw this in Portugal and the girls couldn't have been more than 15
I am not a prude or anything .. but I was a bit shocked.

(11,417 posts)The culture stay away. People who grow up without our sense of modesty are not negetively effected by nudity at all.
Modesty is a learned thing.
My wife grew up in nudist family and she doesn't have that need to be modest.

(17,952 posts)Toddlers on the beach will often be completely naked.
Mom topless.
Dad in a Speedo.
I'm shocked at American/English prudery.

(2,560 posts)You seem to have something about very young teen girls. Depending on location, Europeans don't. It's just natural.
Who cares?...and by the way, I live in Europe.

(30,947 posts)at the full frontal nudity even in TV commercials. But did not bother me because that was France and the people there are used to it.

(11,804 posts)Is this in regards to the 16 yr old stripper party?

(11,700 posts)Nothing to do with that thread.
It's only about so many American's opinion that nudity and sexuality are morally wrong. You see it on the right and on the left.

(11,804 posts)Where do people get the most riled up about do you think?
I'd also say that there are certain types of sexuality I am more comfortable with than others (as I suspect is true of everybody). I certainly don't mind saying "the really sexy stuff starts at 9 or 10."

(11,417 posts)nudity anywhere as long as it is in appropriate situations.

(7,309 posts)It's somewhat arbitrary and subjective, right?

(11,417 posts)at our club at nude beaches. Even events like Bay to Breakers in San Fran and the world nude bike ride. And on federal land if it is sort of private.
Just about any place were other people go nude.

(11,700 posts)American television is awash in the most extreme violence you can imagine. The most violent amongst us are turned into celebrities. We have a very bizarre culture.

(11,700 posts)I guess as a follow up I should ask if nudity should be allowed on American television. I suspect the answers would be different.

(716 posts)It's probably best that they weren't nude. Her upper-frontal-super-structures look like they sort of need the support. And the guys certainly wouldn't want to get their units stuck in guitar strings. That would be bad. Besides, it really wasn't all that risque. She clearly can't drive worth shit (given the picture of the red car). You're sort of supposed to kinda sorta be in the driver's seat, not the middle.
It's a cute song, but rather weak on message. You can sum it up as "I like female naughty bits".

Do you think too much action in Scandinavian dramas takes place in bleak winters?

(114,318 posts)We all have bodies. Only a certain variety of constipated moralist wants to deny that fact.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of those in the US.
However when TCM and FMC run movies with flashes of nudity and f-bombs left in, I feel like I'm being treated like a grown up instead of being infantilized by the type of religious nut who wants to make believe sin doesn't exist in life or in art.
It's called the remote, folks. If you are offended by anything on your TV set, change the fucking channel.
