Man with high-powered rifles and ‘tank buster’ bullets arrested for posting liberal ‘hit list’

Police in Clarkstown, New York have confiscated a cache of high-powered weapons and body armor from a man who was arrested for posting death threats against against many Democratic politicians and every liberal supporter of President Barack Obama.

According to WCBS, 49-year-old Larry Mulqueen was arraigned on Thursday on charges of “making terroristic threats, illegally possessing weapons and harassment.”

Mulqueen’s landlady had tipped off police after she found a “hit list” posted on Facebook that threatened Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) and all members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

The Facebook posting said that all of the president’s follower were “traitor scum” and promised “death to them all.”

It's become terrifying sharing the country with these RWNJs, they literally fantasize about Liberal genocide. As much as we despise conservative ideology we would never wish harm onto them, yet everyday it seems like they are looking to take up arms against us. The RW media is extremely responsible as well for hyping fear & their fetish to war with "Leftists & Liberals".

He had 27 .50 caliber rounds, but no guns to fire them.

He had one bolt-action rifle and one "pump action" (looks more like a lever action) rifle; and no "assault weapons" or handguns.

And he had all those weird swords...

What a fucking nut, and a dangerous man with or without guns.

A trench knife from back then that still had that kind of finish on it after all this time would probably be about as valuable than the rest of the collection combined.

Anything with a hilt that ridiculous is probably a piece of stamped stainless steel that weighs six pounds, has all the balance of a sledgehammer, and could only hurt someone if dropped from a great height, and would probably snap at the hilt anyway. If the cavalry sabre is in a similar range of, ah, quality I wouldn't be surprised.

The firearms and hit list concern me, but my main reaction from that sword is mere snickering.

Single shot, bolt action, very accurate.

But the article calls the collection an arsenal.

It's two rifles, no pistols, and 27 .50 call rounds (no gun for them).

And a bunch of blades.

"Chassepot" bayonet circa 1867-1874.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chassepot

The bottom one I can find no reference for.
Top rifle is a Marlin in 30 Win.
Bottom rifle is a Russian M44 w/folding cruciform bayonet.
Caliber is 7.62x54R

A bullet from a .50 calibre rifle will barely scratch the paint on a WW2 tank, let alone a modern one.

NONE of that shit is worth anything against a tank.

Unless your tank is made of canvas and paint.

Even if he had something that would SHOOT the fucking .50 cal rounds, tanks are immune.

The rest of that stuff is pathetic.

He should have bought a drone. With Hellfire missiles.

Then, go fuck some tanks up for shore.

The armor of the tanks was thin enough that a .50 shot from relatively close range could permeate
penetrate the side and rear armor of some tanks. The Soviet 14.5 mm machine gun round was also fired from rifles, and nations also fielded rifles that shot 20 mm anti aircraft cartridges loaded with anti- armor bullets.

Nowadays, that .50 caliber cartridge would penetrate an armored personnel carrier, but not a tank.

Black-tipped .50 BMG ammo is standard AP stuff, which wouldn't get through the armor of a WWII medium tank, let alone the behemoths currently in use. Plus, the picture doesn't show any gun even capable of firing .50 ammo.
