Obama plans to nominate Walmart Foundation head Sylvia Mathews Burwell to head the White House OMB

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/03/sylvia-matthews-burwell-budget-chief_n_2802794.html

WASHINGTON, March 3 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama plans to nominate Walmart Foundation head Sylvia Mathews Burwell to head the White House Office of Management and Budget on Monday, sources familiar with the matter said on Sunday.

Burwell, 47, is a veteran of Bill Clinton's White House and has helped steer philanthropic efforts while at Wal-Mart's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Burwell would replace Jeffrey Zients, who has been serving as acting director at the White House budget office, known by the acronym OMB.

The move will reunite her with another Clinton White House veteran, Jack Lew, who was Clinton's OMB director for a time and was recently confirmed as Obama's treasury secretary.

for SoS? Why not? Funny, that.

Personally, I believe Hillary did a great job and will make a fine president, despite those dastardly Walmart ties. Yes, I was poking fun with that dastardly remark. This thread is really stupid and deserves to be made fun of. Heaven forbid the head of a charitable fund work at the WH. And OMG, all these people have ties to the Clintons, too!!!

At least that's the talk around DC. Hillary was not my first choice in 08 - she was my second. (Thank goodness I trusted my instincts on Edwards.) But I believe she has proven herself to be very good when in a position of power. Much, much better than I had dreamed she could be. Of course SoS is different from Pres. And the Republicans still hate her. She will face as much opposition as Obama except from the racists. Yeah, yeah, they're misogynists as well. But they have daughters, wives so they have to hide it better. I know, believe me. I'm a southern woman by birth, Fundy raised. I know exactly how they sugarcoat it. So does Hillary. She had to deal with them in Arkansas.

But the fact remains that Warren indeed may stay out if Hillary throws her hat in. She knows she's just one of the pack on a level playing field, but she could easily come out ahead with her ideas. It's not level with Hillary in the running. Mrs. Clinton is experienced, extremely popular, and can very quickly get up to speed on Ms. Warren's issues. She most likely agrees with her in large part anyway, after all we've seen over the last 2 decades on Wall Street.

Now, back to these Walmart people. You know as well as I do what's going on. Bill Clinton worked his ass off for Obama's reelection. There are a number of Clinton people showing up in key positions now. Think there might be any connection? It doesn't bother me much. It's politics. You know it, I know it. Everybody should know it. Everybody should have been thinking along these lines every single time they saw Bill on their televisions during the campaign. He's good at what he does. But he's not free. Nor should he be. And it looks as if he didn't want any sort of personal compensation.

Another thing about Walmart, I hardly think there's some plan afoot for it to take over the world. I hear it's not doing very well these days. Selling cheap imported stuff that breaks or gets ruined the first time it's washed seems to have caught up with them. At last.

who now probably see nothing wrong with it. When Hillary was on the board Sam Walton was still in charge. It's not the same Wal-Mart anymore where most items are manufactured in China. Wal-Mart's headquarters were in AR and they were a huge job provider for the state (just like Tyson).

Ahhh, politics.......Don't you just love it? It's like being a hooker, you never know in whose bed you'll end up.

"Yeah, and she got bashed for it endlessly by the same hypocrites who now probably see nothing wrong with it"

...not hypocritical. You do know that Hillary was also appointed to the President's cabinet. As far as I see, Hillary as SOS enjoyed the support of a lot of people.

"When Hillary was on the board Sam Walton was still in charge. "

See, President Obama, who was never on the board of Walmart, is being consistent in his appointments.
