I heard Jeb on NPR and his position on immigration almost sounds like slave importation.
"Over a period of time, they can have a legalized status that allows them to live a life of dignity," Bush says, "but not necessarily a path to citizenship, so as to not create incentives for future people that aspire to come to our country to do so illegally when they could come legally."

(2,173 posts)1. Let's start a campaign to mail Jeb pot brownies from all over the country. Maybe he'll get a clue.
The guy is only marginally less of a moron than Dubya. Maybe pot will open his eyes a little, or at least give him the munchies.

(20,661 posts)2. Thank you. I was feeling the very same thing as I listened to his "plan".

(24,692 posts)3. You can live here, you can work here, you can pay taxes here BUT you can't vote here.
You would think that even a republican could see the flaw in that logic. Having millions of people in a class that can work and pay taxes but can't vote for their government seems about as undemocratic as you can get.
I guess "taxation without representation" is not a problem for them as long as it is 'others' who have to live with that.
