Newt Gingrich: Favorable or Unfavorable?
Mitt Romney: Favorable or Unfavorable?
JEB BUSH?!?!?!?: Favorable or Unfavorable.
What the FUCK?
EDIT: UPDATE (sort of) Just Googled this and lots of people were commenting on it but Jeb's spokesperson said they didn't know who was behind it, that his is not running in 2012.

(62,683 posts)question is -- HAS it come to this?
I think the GOP would be giddy if he came in to save the day.
Terrifying.

(1,532 posts)There hasn't been enough time for the Dem president to build the Treasury, etc., back up.
Or, what's the matter with me. Perhaps he'd enjoy the further implementation of the Shock Doctrine here in the U.S. -- martial law would be FUN for a Bush, don't you think? GWB would envy Jeb mightily.

(62,683 posts)Jeb to run - or you may have a point about the VP slot.
But the half the GOP hates Romney, the other half hates Gingrich, so they may be begging Jeb to step in.

(45,806 posts)remembert Dummmy W all too well. PLUS, No other candidate can get on all the primary ballots anymore. Heck, even the Newtster didn'[t get on one of them, I think Mo., and had to send a hand written app. to a State in the NE. Ct. I think

Is it possible for another candidate to jump in and get handwritten votes w/out being on the ballot?

(69 posts)The 2012 Presidential True Vote Model: How Obama Could Lose
http://richardcharnin.wordpress.com/category/2012-election/
The 2012 True Vote Model (TVM) indicates that Obama needs a 55% True Vote share to win a majority of the recorded vote. The pre-election 2012 Presidential TVM determines popular vote shares over a range of 2008 voter turnout rates and shares of returning and new voters. The TVM is not designed to forecast the election. That is the purpose of the upcoming 2012 Election Model (EM), which uses Monte Carlo simulation to forecast the electoral vote and win probability based on pre-election polls.

(62,683 posts)I don't know who is behind the calls, if it's just a trial balloon or what. We'll have to see.
I think W (actually Cheney and Rumsfeld) attached Iraq because of the "gift" of 9/11 -- gave them an excuse (lies) to go in to get the oil that Cheney had already divvied up among the Big Oil Boys. I think W LOVED the idea because of Saddam's attack on HW. Win/win.

(12,233 posts)is at this point. Honestly, I still think its way too early for another Bush to try and step into the White House. Also, there are enough stories of how awful FL has become because of his direction.. All those tests for NCLB that teachers and parents are hating were started in FL first with the ole' FCAT. Seems to me that FL was a testing stage for what happened later on to the rest of the country. All those tax cuts for the wealthy, give away's to big corporations for being in the state, all the insurance issues and expenses (the whole No Fault was supposed to be such an insurance savings. It has been the opposite). I honestly don't think they would dare run a Bush yet. I think it won't be until 2016. And the Dem would have to be absolutely horrible.
Its going to be an interesting year anyway. OWS and the spring/ summer spin out is going to make things very interesting. I'm hoping we will see more progressive, pro people instead of corporate candidates running local to house and senate positions. People are paying a bit of attention. People are tired of corporations and wealthy people buying favor and for the rest of the 99% to be screwed royally. I bet there are only a handful of bill that may have passed that favor people, rather than big corp or wall st or banksters or rich people... and many of the "pro-people" legislation that has been touted has also come at the expense of the people like extending Bush tax cuts, the mandatory buy private insurance health care reform act without even the slightest push for a public option.... There's not much that is done by our elected officials that doesn't favor their wealthy donors over the good of the country.

(93,575 posts)if a significant number supports someone who is currently not in the race to others who have been running for years(in romney's case) or months and do have national name recognition it doesn't speak to well of them.
