...why don't we tell Congress to limit this power? That is, after all, their job. And ours should not be to stand in the spotlight and pontificate like this.

All Presidents have always had this power. It is Congress' responsibility to limit the Executive Branch. And as we've all seen since Iraq, they have grossly abdicated their responsibilities.

People want to stand in the center of the mall and cry, "That's not right!" Well, of course it isn't right. Has anyone proposed what should be done about it?

Seriously. The job of a citizen is precisely to stand in any spotlight he or she can and pontificate about injustice. ALWAYS. Don't you get that?

But you've got a point. I will attach a link helping people find their Representative, and I will send a letter to my senators and Congressman.

After Rand Paul's exercise in self-gratification, I would prefer to hear actual proposals from Congress instead of them simply saying, "It's wrong! It's wrong!"

That's the easy part. Doing something about it is what Congress should be focusing their attention on.

We're all in this together. I totally take your opinion that we need to figure out what to do. That we need to have a plan. I just also think that putting pressure on Congress to care about this, to get outraged and to start waving a flag around and saying something has gone wrong here... that's the necessary first step.

It's not sufficient. I will grant you that.

Maybe it's only their hatred of Obama that will compel them to actually do anything? What a country!

I think the fact that Rand freakin' Paul looks like Mr. Smith here should be a dead canary for us.
