Many pug primaries this year are WTA-Threshold

Sorry for the weird abreviation in the headline.

The great majority of Republican primaries this year are proportional, not "winner take all." That change from 2008 suggested that it might be hard for any pug candidate to get 50%+1 of the needed delegates.

But most of those proportional primaries are actualy Winner Take All, but with a threshold. They are proportional if nobody gets 50%. If someone gets 50% then it is winner take all. IIRC, California and New York are in that category. (Texas, however, is strictly proportional.)

Florida is winner take all but it offers a model of what we'll be looking for in many states going forward—whether Romeny can hit 50% in a 4-way race.
