Debt will kill ya.....unfortunately we are headed towards that disaster as well.

(2,354 posts)Look at Iceland, for instance. Even with a small population,
300,000, on a per person basis the numbers are pretty staggering.
But it's still not clear what's going to happen next, or who
is going to have to pay how much to whom. Some of the
debt that was incurred was as questionable as what Goldman
Sachs did in "helping" the Greeks. And what's been happening
lately -- vultures 'buying debt' for dirt cheap -- and expecting
to be fully repaid.... It's nothing that's clarified by pictures of
trucks full of pallets of big bills, and simple declarative statements.

(24,692 posts)Eurozone countries (indeed the economy of the whole european community). It will be interesting to see how Europe emerges from this debt crisis. It could emerge as a more cohesive group with more cooperation and adherence to common goals or a much looser collection of more nationalistic and uncooperative countries.
