It seems as though both the POTUS & FLOTUS are our reward for surviving eight years of the Clown Prince...

(66,361 posts)Who will the repubs view as their "reward" for "surviving" eight years of President Obama?...
I really don't want to know...

If Obama pisses them off so much, clearly a black woman would make their heads explode.

If we don't talk much about it now, it's because we're still in shock and denial.
Obviously it's National PTSD.
But NO, we will N E V E R forget.

(6,151 posts)... but it might be Ann Coulter and Mitch McConnell! That might suit them, but what they're going to get will be Hillary and her VP running mate.

(4,252 posts)She is gorgeous. That black gown pic is soooooooooooo

(8,020 posts)... the thing I appreciate about the FLOTUS is that she's got a fine mind.
She's a bold, intelligent, self possessed woman. Woman of color.
No wonder the rightwingnuts hate her.

(24,096 posts)I really like how they used Michelle's blue dress against a green background. The old saying is Blue and Green should never be seen, but that is not true at all if you choose the right blues and greens, it's beautiful.

(21,675 posts)and I really like her. I don't much care for her style of clothing, but that's neither here nor there
bobclark86
(1,415 posts)not sure I really like her hair all that much (but then again, if her self-esteem needs my approval for a hairstyle, something is horribly wrong in the world), but very pretty. I wonder where she got those earrings? I think my mom would like those (they probably cost more than my car, though).
siligut
(12,272 posts)They look like dangling disks. I just want to say that Michelle isn't known for buying silly, expensive designer items, so those earring may well be within your price range and would be a lovely gift for your mother.
bobclark86
(1,415 posts)I can actually pick out halfway-decent jewelry gifts for her... I just have to see something before I know if I like it, and my vocabulary is seriously lacking .

(17,301 posts)It must be the airbrushing, the make up or the bangs, I'm not sure what. Her nose seems too long, her eyes seem too wide apart and her arms look too perfect. She looks a bit plastic in the cover shot. I remember her with kind eyes and a warm smile, a genuine person, a person I could meet and like.
Not that she looks mean or anything but it just doesn't look like her. The photo of her and the president is a little better and the one in the gown is terrific.

(24,324 posts)I was never crazy about Michelle's bangs before. But, looks like she had them cut a bit shorter and a different shape. This style I really like.
But who cares?? She is TOO MUCH !

(2,389 posts)Always wearing dresses sends the wrong message to young women...that this is the only acceptable way to dress in business/public. Women fought long and hard to be accepted wearing pants, and it saddens me that our First Lady isn't taking that torch and running with it. Dresses are all right, but wearing them constantly sends a message that pants aren't acceptable.
Aside from that, I love Michelle and her new hairstyle!
Laura PourMeADrink
(42,770 posts)circles? Hmmm. I am in the business world and have never thought of that before. In my experience,
it is how you act and what you know and how you speak not whether you have a dress or a pants suit on.

(9,580 posts)I always loved wearing dresses. Until I got too fat ...
Nothing wrong with dresses. If you can wear them, good for you.
