4 of 5 new appointees to Small Business Regulatory Review Board donated to Walker campaign

Last week, Governor Scott Walker announced the appointment of 5 members to his new Small Business Regulatory Review Board. Walker said this about the board: The Small Business Regulatory Review Board has the authority to review every rule in all of our state agencies. They will work to remove antiquated and unnecessary regulations that pose a threat to creating new jobs.
Of the five people appointed by Walker to the board, four of them have made contributions to Scott Walkers campaign in the recent past according to the campaign donation database maintained by the non-partisan Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.

Readers can decide for themselves if this type of political payback is healthy for the state of Wisconsin. Walker certainly isnt the first governor to appoint campaign donors to state commissions, but an assignment on this new board seems almost designed for abuse. What business owner wouldnt love to select which regulations should be abolished, regardless of their value to the entire society? It would seem nearly impossible to resist the temptation to benefit your own business first.
