Sunday Talk Shows

Meet the Press
What does the election of Pope Francis mean for Catholics here in the United States and the 1.2 billion Catholic faithful around the world? How does the new Pope lead a church in transition? We'll talk with Chicago's Cardinal Francis George

Israel's Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, discusses President Obama's upcoming trip to Israel, political stability in the region and how to restart the peace process in the Middle East.

The budget battle begins anew as both Republicans and Democrats release their annual budget proposals, sparking a debate about priorities. Which is a greater concern: short-term debt or the economic recovery and jobs? Plus, is President Obama's shuttle diplomacy between the White House and Capitol Hill working? We'll have an exclusive debate between the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, Rep. Chris Van Hollen and the House Republican Whip, Rep. Kevin McCarthy

Discussion: Church and State
With the world watching the Vatican this week, we'll have a special discussion about the state of the Catholic Church in America and the role of faith in society in the modern age. Plus the politics of the week: As conservatives gather in Washington for CPAC, what is the state of the Republican Party? Joining us: Host of MSNBC's "Hardball" Chris Matthews former two-term Republican Governor who, in 2002, was appointed by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to investigate the sex abuse scandals in the Church, Frank Keating (R-OK); author and former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and Republican Ana Navarro

The state of the GOP, Gov. Scott Walker

ABC This Week
House Speaker John Boehner goes one-on-one with ABC News' Martha Raddatz in a "This Week" Sunday exclusive.

President Obama visited with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle this week, but the partisan divide over the country's financial future seems as wide as ever. Can any common ground be found between the vastly different budget priorities outlined by House Republicans and Senate Democrats this week? What about bipartisan efforts on immigration, as well as the push for more legislation on guns? And is President Obama's charm offensive making a difference? House Speaker Boehner answers those questions.

Then, the powerhouse roundtable debates all the week's politics, from budget battles in Washington to the future of the Catholic Church, with ABC News' George Will and Matthew Dowd House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Xavier Becerra D-Calif.; co-host of NPR's All Things Considered Audie Cornish and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina chair of Good360.

And as President Obama heads to the Middle East next week, a special foreign policy roundtable examines major challenges abroad, including the state of the war in Afghanistan and the growing cyber-security threat, with former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright former Bush National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley and former Joint Chiefs of Staff Vice Chair Gen. James Cartwright (USMC, Ret.).

Plus, in this week's Sunday Spotlight, ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff reflects on the 10-year anniversary of the beginning of the Iraq War.

CBS Face the Nation
On Sunday, we'll talk to Congressman Paul Ryan . He's laid out his budget plan that will balance the federal deficit by 2023 and includes abolishing Obamacare. I really don't think that's going to happen simply because the votes just aren't there so I'll be interested to see his take on where and what he is willing to negotiate on. Also, I don't think congress will pass an increase in tax rates but there are some things that can be done.

We'll also talk to Reince Priebus who's the chairman of the Republican National Committee. He's going to outline a plan to try and broaden the appeal of the Republican party. He's been on a nationwide listening tour with his program "Growth and Opportunity" that he hopes will help modernize his party and bring it more success in the polls.

I'm also excited to hear from Democratic Senator of Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar to get her take on where the budget negotiations could go.

Then, I've got a great foreign policy panel with Richard Haass, The Council on Foreign Relations President; Danielle Pletka of American Enterprise Institute, David Rhode of The Atlantic and David Sanger from The New York Times

CBS 60 Minutes
The American Nuns - One of the pressing problems newly elected Pope Francis may want to address is the disillusionment among American nuns. Many were shocked last year when the group that represents most of them was reprimanded by the Vatican, which said the nuns' liberal ideas were undermining the Church.

The Innovator - Twitter creator Jack Dorsey tells Lara Logan about his brainstorm for the popular social medium, his separation and reunion with the company and his current venture, Square.

Hit Man - John Veasey used to kill people for a living as a hit man in the Philadelphia Mob. Today, Veasey drives a church bus and attends weekly worship as a born-again Christian in a Middle American suburb. Has he really changed?

Fox News Sunday
In a Fox News Sunday exclusive, Sen. Dick Durbin and Sen. Bob Corker talk with Chris Wallace about the budget battle going on in the Capitol.

Matt Kibbe, President and CEO of FreedomWorks and Steve LaTourette, Former U.S. Representative (R-Ohio) and President and CEO of the Republican Main Street Partnership are on Fox News Sunday to talk about the future of the Republican party.

CNN State of The Union
Could the next World War come through your computer? We have an exclusive interview with the Leaders of the House Intelligence Committee – Republican Mike Rogers of Michigan and Democrat Dutch Ruppersberger of Maryland. We’ll also address North Korea’s ramped up rhetoric and the narrowing window of opportunity to talk Iran from the nuclear ledge.

From the battlefields in Iraq to the battles on Capitol Hill, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR) join us to discuss how their experiences in combat shape their policy positions today, ten years after Shock and Awe.

Speaking of shock and awe, Republicans are still reeling from their election losses in 2012. As the conservative wing of the party gathers in DC to rally the faithful, the Republican Party chairman readies his election autopsy. Can the Grand Ol’ Party recover and court new voters before the next race? Plus, Rand Paul sounds presidential, Marco Rubio doesn’t sound off on immigration and Paul Ryan’s budget proposal sounds very familiar. Our political panel sounds off – Al Cardenas of the American Conservative Union, Democratic Strategist KiKi McLean, Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona and a new face in the political world, Dr. Ben Carson

Fareed Zakaria GPS
On GPS this week: What should be done about North Korea? As Pyongyang gets ever more belligerent, Fareed talks to two men who have been involved in crafting Washington's East Asian policy: former Ambassador to South Korea Donald Gregg and Victor Cha of Georgetown University.

Then, 10 years on from the start of the war in Iraq: what went wrong, why, and what needs to be done now? Fareed speaks to one of the original architects of that war, former U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz

“The price was high and I think the price in lives is the one I feel the most acutely,” Wolfowitz says. “But this is a critical part of the world. I would like, as much as anyone, to be able to say let's forget about the Persian Gulf. Let's forget about the larger Middle East. Let's focus on Asia, where I've spent a good part of my career and which is a much more satisfying place to work. But that part of the world isn't leaving us alone. Al Qaeda isn't leaving us alone. Pakistan isn't leaving us alone.”

And in What in the World, why hundreds of Chinese are suddenly getting divorced.

Melissa Harris Perry Show
Coverage of the verdict in the Steubenville trial The judge will read it at 10am ET.

Rula Jebreal ,TV host, author and political commentator. She is a foreign policy expert for Newsweek magazine & contributor for MSNBC.

Up w/Chris Hayes
The budget debate, Iraq ten years later
On Sunday’s Up w/ Chris Hayes, we’ll discuss the various budget proposals released by Republicans and Democrats in Congress this week. Rep. Paul Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee, offered a budget proposal this week that was no less than a conservative wish list. His plan would repeal the Affordable Care Act, convert Medicare into a voucher program and revamp Medicaid into a block grant program.

Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Patty Murray, proposed a more cautious budget with a one-to-one ratio of spending cuts and new tax revenue. That plan was framed by the media as the “Democratic alternative” to the Ryan plan. But there was a third proposal put forward this week, a much stronger liberal counterweight to the unbridled conservatism of the Ryan budget. The plan, proposed by the Congressional Progressive Caucus, would add $2 trillion in new spending to create jobs that would be paid for by increasing taxes on the wealthy and corporations.

Then we’ll turn to the ten-year anniversary of the war in Iraq. We’ll reflect on what, exactly, has been left behind there after the war: a sovereign country but with an unstable democracy, bitter animosity and deadly violence. We’ll examine the state of Iraq along with Americans’ seeming reluctance to acknowledge the stark contrast between the Iraq many envisioned the U.S. would leave behind, and the Iraq that exists today.

Zainab al Suwaij, co-founder and executive director of the American Islamic Congress.
