Silver alert? This is a thing?

I mean, it certainly seems like a good idea, I'd just never heard of them until one was on the traffic advisory sign on the beltway.

Do they not happen often, or have I just been missing them?

4. For those not aware, silver alerts are amber alerts for elderly people.

And yes they have them, my mother always jokes about how there will be a silver alert for her and her dogs some day. Driving around with 3 dogs packed into a white BMW.

I seem then on the highway signs here in Texas more often than Amber alerts, didn't know that was what they are called.

People can register & if someone with a cognitive disorder wanders off, the info goes on to police,.media & on road information signs. It has been so successful, we have expanded to a "special needs".alert for people on the spectrum or with developmental disabilities.
