So of course it was only a matter of seconds before her name was known.
Oh, and rapist not reprimanded or anything - actually, the judge bent over backwards to assure the rapists' parents that their poor boys would be going to caring lovely places and also admonished young people everywhere to not twitter or iPhone everything they did, because see? There are consequences to getting caught.

I think it was DailyKOS that has a link to that too, where Candy and the CNN spokesmodel on location talked about the devastation to the "bright future" both rapists now had to deal with as a consequence of this sentence...Didn't seem to cross either one of these women's minds that it might have been the fact that they RAPED a young woman that had ruined their "bright futures" and not the fact that they had been caught and found guilty...

This whole sickening episode has really laid bare the ugliness that is still right under the surface in today's modern culture...

Note that one of the scumbag rapists didn't actually apologize for committing a rape. He apologized for taking and disseminating photographs. Photographs that embarrassed the football program and jeopardized the bright future of the Rape Crew.

The Rape Crew will doubtless continue on its merry way, but will be careful now not to create photographic evidence.

I listened to the report from Crowley and the woman covering the trial and NEITHER ONE OF THEM could find it within their consciences to note these young men (and their friends) had so little regard for the life of this female that they could laugh about pissing on her while she was, as they said, "deader than dead."

The legal guy who was asked to comment had one line about... and the victim.

But the focus was on how those guys' lives were changed - how "they saw their lives change" with the verdict.

Yeah, and while they were raping an unconscious young woman, they and their friends were laughing about it but not one word about how their lives were full of shit to begin with.
