(23,664 posts)that was a very easy test to figure out the answers you were supposed to give. There was a very sharp contrast between the two possible answers to each question. In reality there are several degrees of separation between the points of view represented by the two answers and thus many more realistically possible responses.
Sometimes I selected that answer which came closest to my thinking because there was no answer which accurately reflected it. I'm happy to be considered a solid liberal but I have this nagging feeling that maybe I'm really not that solid.
hfojvt
(37,573 posts)I took it and it said I was a "hard pressed Democrat" and then I took it again and gave the exact same answers, except at the end, I said I was a Republican instead of telling the truth.
And the test said I was a "main street Republican"
then I went back and changed my self-definition to "independent" (and changed none of the other answers, and it said I was a "post Modern"
but that just could be me, sort of a half-conservative, half-liberal set of answers. Just for fun, I went back and chose all of the "standard liberal" responses and said I was a "strong Republican"
but the test still came back with "solid liberal"
but I am unsure why you would give "the answers you were supposed to give" (supposed to according to whom?) instead of "what you really think".
tularetom
(23,664 posts)Which said if neither statement matched my opinion to select the one that came closest.
There was a lot of wiggle room between the two choices. Of course the "liberal" choice came closer to my opinion but sometimes neither statement reflected what I really felt.
It was a fun test just a bit simplistic.

(10,893 posts)I wasn't entirely sure how to vote on the immigrant question, though, because I have heard very convincing arguments from both sides.
As far as the results go, I found it troubling where it said only 41% of people believe government should do more to help the needy, and only 45% said it should do more to advance equal rights for blacks. Also, according to the results, only 14% of the public is solidly liberal. What I take from this is that America still has a long way to go in terms of egalitarianism.

(37,573 posts)only 9% of the public is "staunch conservatives" only 11% are "mainstreet Republicans" and only 9% are "libertarians" which would make a pretty darn solid 71% for the "non conservative" side. Sorta funny then, how they somehow control two houses of Congress and so many state legislatures.

(42 posts)There were a few questions I didn't want to answer because I felt both responses were horribly worded and didn't reflect my views on the issue.

(21,020 posts)you.
I also found the wording to be a bit misleading and had trouble answering a couple of questions, and did not even choose an answer at all for one of them.
Even so, I came in at "Solid Liberal", but I do not agree with that label.
I think I'm more of a Moderate Democrat than a Liberal.
