Tue Mar 19, 2013, 11:37 PM
Mar 2013
All right, pure delight
to see you stand in
all your glory.
Oh the joys when your boys
hit distant soil.

And I hope to try
to answer those who criticize you.
Lead the sheep in their sleep
to slaughter.

Won't abide, pushed aside
Let me know when you've decided
I'll decline when the sign
says "Over There"

Your game has a name
force and fury, fact and fiction.
Sound the call, and the walls
will tumble.

Dear mother how I will write this line
When I know I'm counting time
I'm tired and I'm scared
I'm waiting and death's my friend
To say in God we trust not for this
Oh the death and glory boys not for this
Dear beloved try to write to you
Through the senseless deaths of a million troops
I'm waiting my time is near
As my tears wash away my years
To say in God we trust not for this
Oh the death and glory boys not for this
Where I walk where I see
The haunting flares where my friends bleed
I see the face of the enemy
Of a man or boy who is just like me
Now you're not there
All the tears we bled
Cut through like winters rain
Can't you feel the pain
And if I could ever sleep again
I know till the end of time I'd hear
Their screams of pain
Dulce dulce decorum
Dulce dulce decorum
Dulce
Dear mother I'll write to you

13. Sky Pilot — Eric Burdon and the Animals
Tue Mar 19, 2013, 11:50 PM
Mar 2013

He blesses the boys as they stand in line
The smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man

Sky pilot... sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky

He smiles at the young soldiers
Tells them its all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry

Sky pilot... sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky

He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
The order is given
They move down the line
But he's still behind and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate

As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels tired and he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said

Sky pilot... sky Pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky

You're soldiers of God you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
May God give you strength
Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
Only time it will tell

In the morning they return
With tears in their eyes
The stench of death drifts up to the skies
A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot
Remembers the words
"Thou shalt not kill"

Sky pilot... sky pilot
How high can you fly
You never, never, never reach the sky

26. Masters Of War....
Wed Mar 20, 2013, 12:00 AM
Mar 2013
Steve Earle singing Bob Dylan...

s Of War" Ringtone to your Cell Masters Of War Ringtone
"Masters Of War"

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build all the bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks.

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly.

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain.

You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion'
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud.

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins.

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do.

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul.

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand over your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead.

34. Bring Him Home (from Les Miserables)
Wed Mar 20, 2013, 12:13 AM
Mar 2013

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there

He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.

Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.

The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.

Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy

You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die
Let me die
Let him live

Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

Spoken) Look, Mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky.
Ooooooooooh. Ooooooooooh. Ooooooooooh.
Did did did did you see the frightened ones?
Did did did did you hear the falling bombs?
Did did did did you ever wonder why we had to run
For shelter on the promise of a brave new world
Unfurled beneath the clear blue sky?
Ooooooooooh. Ooooooooooh.
Did did did did you see the frightened ones?
Did did did did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all long gone but the pain lingers on.
Goodbye blue sky, goodbye blue sky.
Goodbye, goodbye

This video is from "Oh What a Lovely War," and is just the chorus of the song. In English it would be:

Good-bye to life, good-bye to love,
Good-bye to all the women,
It's all over now, we've had it for good
With this awful war.
It's in Craonne up on the plateau
That we're leaving our skins,
'Cause we've all been sentenced to die.
We're the ones that they're sacrificing

If this is really living
Why am I so unforgiving
Half the world is down the toilet
Half on it's way.

Well if I had a dollar for
Everytime he hollers:
"Trust us with your hearts and minds"
Or I'll make you pay

TRUST ME

Ask me why your feeling screwed
And I'll give you an answer
There's a Colin, Dick and Bush
Justa hammerin' away

Ask me why you feel decived
And stripped of all your liberties
It doesn't take a genius
To explain that today

You can't pay me to join an army camp
Or any other motherfuckin' military branch

Be a soldier, what for?
They puttin' niggas on the front line
But when it comes to gettin' ahead, they put us way behind
I ain't gettin' my leg shot off
While Bush old ass on t.v. playin' golf
But when you come to my house with that draft shit
I'm a shoot your funky ass bitch
A nigga'll die for a brawl
But I ain't fightin' behind no goddamn oil
Against motherfuckas I don't know
Yo Bush! I ain't your damn hoe
The enemy is right here g, them foreigners never did shit me
All of those wasted lives
And only one or two get recognized
But what good is a medal when your dead? tell Uncle Sam I said

I am the only one that got through
The others died where ever they fell
It was an ambush
They came up from all sides
Give your leaders each a gun and then let them fight it out themselves
I've seen devils coming up from the ground
I've seen hell upon this earth
The next will be chemical but they will never learn
