Subject for the March contest :"A Photographer's Favorite"
The participants posted a favorite photo of theirs, any subject, that they had not had a chance to show in a contest.
The poll will run for 3 days and after that I will announce the winners and the names of the photographers of all the photos that were submitted since this has been one of our rare completely blind contests where the names are only known to me as the host.
Please vote for the photo that speaks to you the most, and don't forget to Kick and Recommend.
We especially appreciate your comments.
Thank you very much. We could not have this much fun without your participation and appreciation.

(2,934 posts)I had a really hard time choosing from those. They ALL deserve to win!

(272 posts)Panes of Gold and Portrait of Intensity were close seconds. Good photographers are so admirable.

(26,617 posts)but when I thought about it along with the theme - it is incredibly difficult to get that shot.
Cudos to the artist!

(22,057 posts)Some posters surprise me, others don't and most I just don't know-but tis always fun...

(57,621 posts)I always vote first. I try not to let the number of votes for a choice sway me, but sometimes if I'm torn I'll vote for one that hasn't received as many votes. I never look at the names until after I've voted.
Rowdyboy
(22,057 posts)And, I've been known to change my vote at the last minute if I can boost a really good shot that just needs a tiny bit of help but that's only happened once or twice.
ohheckyeah
(9,314 posts)hands down. It is stunning in its simplicity and composition. Beautifully photographed. Well done.
BainsBane
(57,621 posts)I voted for it too. The cat one is great as well though.

(24,850 posts)However, I voted for "I'm Coming For You" because it must have been a difficult shot & the clarity is amazing.
It's very difficult to choose; they're all so gorgeous.
Mira
(22,668 posts)we have over 50 votes in the first hour - that is about one sixth of what I expect in the entire 72 hour run - and that happened in the hour after midnight.
I think everybody is really thrilled with these, in spite of the tough choices they represent.
I'm having fun watching.
Rowdyboy
(22,057 posts)I congratulate everyone involved.

(16,688 posts)It's always a tough choice but this was almost impossible.

(4,475 posts)It was a very hard choice. I finally had to go with Garlic & Onions even though I'm a cat lover. Beautiful still life, looks like a Renaissance painting!
There were also several others that were really awesome. It was a hard choice this month.

(2,977 posts)But I had to go with garlic and onions. The first half of my life I didn't touch, couldn't stand, either one. Now it's impossible for me to cook without them and my children learned to love them, too.

(10,749 posts)Usually one photo jumps out and the decision is easy. This month, not so much.
I'm Coming For You got my vote, but Winter Range was also very compelling, as was Panes of Gold.
There sure is a lot of talent here.

(135,425 posts)I realize that would probably obviate the purpose of a "contest" but they are all so damn good....
