8. 1% vs 99% is about the immorality/criminality of the 1%. Not about how they don't matter.

As Americans, they do matter. They gain our disdain not because they are inherently advantaged but instead because they lie and steal and show little or no respect for the rest of Americans.

Which, in turn, screws the majority and minorities alike.

IMO, the vast majority of the 99% wouldn't resent the 1% if we could afford decent housing, food, healthcare, education for our kids, etc., and had a little spending money left over. The more precarious things get for us, the more we resent the rapaciousness and callousness of the 1%.

And as it discusses needs, not rights, reframing it as opposition to equality is a huge stretch. Finally opposition to popular democracy is the default conservative position on government.
