Things are getting hot at the Susan G. Komen Foundation, according to Alternet

http://www.alternet.org/newsandviews/article/769949/komen_website_hacked,_planned_parenthood_rakes_in_donations,_and_news_surfaces_that_komen_official_resigned_over_decision/

It seems that the director of grants resigned when she learned Susan G. Komen Foundation would de-fund Planned Parenthood. Even better, the director of their Los Angeles office has now resigned as well.

The best news yet: Planned Parenthood raked in $650,000 in donations yesterday, which replaces the $600K they lost from SGKF.

Someone has also censored the new SGKF VP's Twitter feed as well.

Pink ribbon lapel pin: $5
Alleged entry fee to the Race For The Cure: $2200
Trashing a $440 million a year business over a $600,000 yearly grant? Priceless.

Komen had $75.2 million dollars in administrative and direct fundrasing expenses last year...
In addition to $29.7 million in Race for the Cure 3-day event and $18.1 million in 'other' fundraising expenditures.

http://ww5.komen.org/uploadedFiles/Content/AboutUs/Financial/2011%20Komen%20Financial%20Statements%20FINAL(3).pdf

Who know how many millions spent in litigation against other non-profits for using the word "cure" and the color pink...

Komen is doing some good, but it's administrative and fundraising expenses are astronomical in scope.

In fact, I think that this episode illustrates why I think it's a bad thing to blame men ("misogynists&quot for opposing choice.

Men and women support choice in roughly equal numbers.
