I have to admit is did make me a bit antsy about my upset stomach.

Thing is, it seemed quite plausible considering how mobile people are today. Get sick in Hong Kong, change planes in Chicago and at that point containment is damn near impossible. Scary stuff.

Judgement error from fever.

When you have some of the symptoms you get a better feel for the point of the film.
