"Yes, we like the Yankees, but today we're all rooting for Boston."![]() Hey. Maybe not so much with the fighting and the crazy around here, yeah? It's been hard enough already without my beloved and deeply needed online sanctuary going sideways. The above cartoon is offered as a little metaphor about infighting between people playing the same game. Stout hearts, old friends. And love. Always love. Always. - a bit of Boston ![]()

3. I'm thinking you should go give blood when you can.
It would help more than a cartoon.
It will actually make a difference. I mean, you do live right there, right? I understand why you didn't want to go help after the explosions, as you said in another OP - But giving actual blood now won't hurt much. I'll give blood in a couple of days. It's when the Red Cross sez to do it. I'll text and send a photo to you if you'll do the same. |

8. Thanks for the scold
but the Boston Red Cross has told people to stop showing up to donate. They have more than they need.
We do OK with that stuff here. |

9. Giving blood
is a great way to help. There have been tons of articles stating that they've reached their saturation point, though, and don't need anymore donors for the time being.
When they're in need again, I'm sure posters here can multi-task and post pro-Boston cartoons AND give blood. Or time/effort/money to help out. |

10. I'm not allowed to give blood.
Last time I went, I declined the needle and instead requested a handgun and a bucket.
No, but seriously, I take medication--and my doctor's told me it would be unwise to give blood as a result of it. |

4. This former New Yorker loves Boston ...
I'm not sure if I can root for the Red Sox, though .... That's asking too much .....
We love you guys ... (and your seafood, your pizza and your homemade ice cream too) ... Not so much the street signs ... |

5. Thinking about Boston's unoffical anthem
By the Standells. "love that dirty watta - Boston, you're my home!" Beantown, in human terms, is like our crazy aunt with a great heart - hard to like sometimes, but easy to love.
