Why do we allow them to be called conservatives?

"Conservative" has always meant cautious and resistant to change.

"Conservative" is not an adjective that applies to today's Republican Party.

They are radicals with radical ideas that want to radically change America.

They want to kill labor unions, and end collective bargaining rights.

They want a system that favors money and force over ideas.

Socially, they want their own minority rule, without regard to minority rights.

If you are a woman, they want control of your uterus.

They want control of your media. They want to tell you what you can watch, and what you can listen to.

They seek to control your elections, and the machines you vote on.

They seek to redistrict your states to rig elections.

They seek to further rig the tax code, to further the redistribution of wealth upward.

The Republicans are the furtherest things from conservatives. They are dangerous right-wing radicals that want to remake America into a third-world dystopia, which will envy the darkest parts of Africa for their freedom.

They are simply evil.

We must make it impossible for the media to keep calling them conservative. They are not in any way conservative. They are radicals. Freedom-hating radicals. Treasonous turncoats. And they must be stopped.

Republicans are not conservatives. AT ALL.

2. Totalitarian One Party Rule

The agenda is totalitarian one party rule permanently. Add up all their policy statements and all of their actions. They have declared war on the government itself. Small government is just a cover and a lie.

The RW is behind the thuggery against OWS. And weak kneed Democrats go along because they fear the intimidation and money bombs that will come their way. The GOP brownshirts have infiltrated so many institutions. Komen is just one example.

We are in a civil war with these bastards who would pretty much end the country as a decent place to live. Give them the power and see how long it will take them to send the National Guard against opponents.

Their reign would mean economic slavery for 80% of the population, end of all womens' rights, end of all labor laws including child labor, end of the minimum wage, end of family planning which would be criminalized, over 100,000 American with NO access to any kind of health care, end of all domestic federal programs, end of the EPA, end of the national park system, outsourcing of all manufacturing, end of the SEC, etc, etc,

They decry violence endlessly yet they are the first to use violence. We are facing a psychopathic party that would make Assad seem like an angel.

We got a "Right-to-Work" job shoved down our throats this week. I told people who work in agency shops who are just THRILLED that they don't have to give money to the Union anymore that they had bloody well better BANK that extra $65 a month, because in 10 years, they'll wish they had it to eat on.

They want to "drill, drill, drill" with the same regard for safety as BP had in the Gulf.

They want the Keystone pipeline, because of jobs, jobs, jobs, and who cares if there might be a couple little spills.

They want to frack, frack, frack, because natural gas is the energy of the future.

They think wind energy is foolish, unless they can get a killer return on a wind energy tax shelter.

They think Fukushima and Chernobyl were aberrations and now all the bugs are worked out of nuke plants.

Once they get done, there will be precious little left of the planet to "conserve".

7. The same could be said of liberals

liberalism, political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the individual to be the central problem of politics. Liberals typically believe that government is necessary to protect individuals from being harmed by others; but they also recognize that government itself can pose a threat to liberty. As the revolutionary American pamphleteer Thomas Paine expressed it in Common Sense (1776), government is at best “a necessary evil.”



This is nowhere close to what people who claim to be liberals believe. FDR ran as a liberal. ""Our Federal extravagance and improvidence bear a double evil; first, our people and our businesses cannot carry these excessive burdens of taxation; second, our credit structure is impaired by the unorthodox Federal financing made necessary by the unprecedented magnitude of these deficits." That was 1932. FDR always called himself a liberal, and as a candidate, he was correct. However, he changed his tune as president, realizing that more government intervention was needed after the Great Depression, but continued to call himself a liberal. This is believed by many to be the turning point for Americans completely misusing the term liberal.

I'm not sure when we started misusing the term conservative.

In the Cold War era, I think the term "The Reds" were used as a slur against the then USSR.

Trade Unions existed in the USSR but were really more arms of the government and membership was compulsory.

They controlled both the horizontal and the vertical of your TV set. Outside shortwave broadcasts were repeatedly jammed.

Elections were a joke.

After thinking about all of this, maybe Republicans deserve the colour red, because their actions are more like that of the USSR.
