Watching most TV news channels, for very long at all, will make most people get twitchy and jump at every little sound or though or idea. They spend entire news cycles whipping people into a frenzy of fear. It's not worth it.
If you turn them off, you can go outside and enjoy your day or stay in and enjoy your day. Enjoying a day won't cause the world to end.
