(14,704 posts)it still causes serious delays on my system because of all the video links.
I have a very new and powerful computer and AT&T service (yes, I know, suck-ass AT&T service . . . but it is still slow as hell.)
Thanks. - Fleur

(72,631 posts)computer, does not mean it works as it is supposed to.
I just had the displeasure of setting up Windows 8 on a girlfriend's computer.
Powerful, but NOT fast.

(14,704 posts)And I sympathize with you and Windows 8 . . . unfortunately, I have no BF computer whiz and am left to deal with such issues on my own. Your GF is lucky to have you! Peace. - fleur

(14,704 posts)Other than switching carriers? I would certainly heed your expert opinion. I currently have service for bundled phone, cable and internet with AT&T. The other options in my area are not much better. In fact, they are probably worse, in terms of service.
I really appreciate for your expertise and your opinion. As I stated before, I am not technologically savvy. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated. - Fleur

Run the speed tests, and the "settings" tool... see if you are defeating yourself.
If those come up roses...

Make sure all "Get high-priority updates" are up to date... if not, download and install.
That's a start.
