Moment of silence becomes one of violence in Brockton (Massachusetts)

BROCKTON —

At least two people were shot about 2:50 p.m. Monday in Brockton when passengers inside two vehicles reportedly exchanged gunfire.

The incident happened near 300 North Main Street, just as the state and parts of the country were observing a moment of silence for victims of the Boston Marathon bomb attack, which happened a week ago today, at 2:50 p.m.

The victims reportedly walked into the AMR ambulance facility at 365 North Main St., and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries were not known.

The incident happened near 25 Coburn Street, which is near North Main Street. Police were cordoning off the area, and discussing how to safely close the nearby Angelo Elementary School. Police were reportedly seeking a gold or gray Jeep Cherokee, and a Volkswagen.
