Alleged Boston Marathon bomber got welfare benefits from state

BOSTON —One of the marathon bombing suspects was getting help from the state even as he allegedly made a radical turn against America.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, his wife, and their 3-year-old daughter were getting state-funded welfare benefits as recently as last year.

State officials told the Boston Herald those benefits stopped when Tsarnaev stopped meeting the income requirements.

But, the 26-year-old parents also got state funds when the family lived in a Cambridge apartment.
