Mormon bishop uses samurai sword to stop attack

I put in "Mormon Samurai" and this is what Google images came up with. I don't care if it's even associated with the story. If there are more than one Mormon Samurai, I'm clearly not reading enough:

http://www.abc57.com/news/national-world/Bishop-uses-samurai-sword-to-stop-attack-204591281.html

MILCREEK, Utah. -- A bishop of a Mormon church in Utah helped stopped an apparent mugging with a samurai sword.

He heard his neighbor screaming and immediately grabbed his sword.

He ran out into the street and scared the suspect off just from the sight of the sword.

"When he saw the sword he said, 'I'm leaving, I'm leaving’ and took off running," said Bishop Kent Hendrix, modern-day samurai.

The modern-day samurai's appearance scared the suspect enough that he turned himself into the police just a few hours later.

How can you not love a headline like that. BTW, this is bound to be a new Troma Entertainment movie franchise.

We have a nice batch of bamboo growing up along the side of the road. It makes for a great privacy fence but you have to plant it somewhere that you can mow because the stuff spreads like mint, its damned near unstoppable. One very good thing to use it for is poles for growing beans. To make the poles you simply cut the bamboo down (we use a Sawzall) and then strip off the little side branches - a task for which a small "Samurai" sword works wonders. I got our sword out of a trash can at an apartment complex.

A girlfriend brought some bamboo home once and wanted to plant it in the front yard. I was like, "Uh, uh. No way. That shit is going into a pot or we're going to look like the Bamboo Mountains in a few years."

disembodied head with the action-esque pose by the sword wielder. I doubt it, but the news has gotten so gimmicky lately one can never rule out such silliness.

... was it a real "shinsakuto" Samurai sword hand-crafted from folded steel, or one of those crappy replicas (like the one I have) that are made from cheap stainless industry steel?
