Shhh...don't tell anybody

especially your local paper of record...but tomorrow is May Day...no, not the Victory in Iraq day...mission accomplished crapola your local media will pump. Nope, tomorrow is May Day...the anniversary of events over a century ago in a certain plaza in Chicago...the Haymarket

Take a second tomorrow to remember the heroes of the Haymarket...and if you can join a May Day event.

I will be there...tomorrow. I think labor is now trying to recapture what should be an American Labor Day.

So I expect the usual suspects (insert several unions here)...and a nice day to take photos and notes.

The reason we moved our Labor Day was because the Powers That Be are superstitious IDIOTS who believe there would be some kind of global vibe or something that would make all the workers of America rise up and overthrow their capitalist exploiters and anarchy would follow. It's also important to make Americans feel like they are not part of a wider world.

Then again, May Day was also when the USSR held it's big parade down Red Square. They liked to present themselves as the result of a worker's revolt,....to their workers.

Think about that as you wrap the pole.
