...the unbearably high humidity can make us feel wet!

We were actually in the severe drought category before this little system visited. Thankfully it hasn't produced much in the way of spin ups.

Relatively speaking. It will still rain. But usually not with the frequency as the summer.

Although some summers will be less bountiful than others, rainwise. My parents upstate in Gainesville have complained about drought conditions over the past couple of summers due to less than average rain.

The clouds are low and very dark. The temps have been dropping since early morning. The rain has been fat and spotty.

All in all, it's a typical August day.

We've had other tropical storms/hurricanes since then, but the water comes up to the belly of our poor dog (who insisted she needed to go out). She's a chow/retriever mix. The entire back half of our yard is flooded and the street is flooded up over the curbs and then some.

Weather guy just said there's more coming...yikes.

They bandaged everything up here after Frances in 2004, but it's not stable. It did flicker twice, but came back.

Stay safe!!

And thus Florida is becoming more and more tropical in nature due to this shift. I expect more of Florida to become similar to the rain forests in Costa Rica.

we got a half days rain yesterday, Wednesday, about 1/2 inch We needed it, and we need more, I think we're in a 7 year drought at this point. Hillsborough got 3-5 inches on Tuesday, and are getting more today.

I save rain water for my garden and plants, so far 200 gallons in containers which will last 2 weeks if it stays hot and dry.

Oh, I forgot to add, weather forecasters called for 70% chance of rain today and that it would blow in off the gulf about 830 am, then it was 12 noon, then around 230 pm. It's 520 pm now and still no rain in my hood.

about 35 years, in the same house for 32 of it.

Just got the homemoaners insurance bill for this year. It went up 11% on the premium thanks to the floriduh state bought legislature.

It was a much better place when Lawton Chiles or Bob Graham were governors instead of these repuke snakeoil carpetbaggers.

sheesh, my representative doesn't even respond to my emails, that would be Alethea Joyner and she's supposed to be a Democrat.
