Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended her first Kentucky Derby over the weekend, making a statement with a bet on a horse named "Frac Daddy." It didn't pay off.
"Frac Daddy, the name alone warranted a bet," Palin said on Sunday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. She went on to call the entire event a "wonderful experience."
The horse, a play off the controversial hydraulic fracturing method of natural-gas extraction, finished 16th out of 19. Orb and jockey Joel Rosario won the race. ............................(more)
