Working sick and poor explained in pictures..take note republicans..(dial up)

***Just a note in some states--mine being one--minimum wage is $7.25 so it takes longer to afford those things

So the next time someone (read asshole repugs) says there are jobs out there, but no one wants to work at them. Show them the pictures, it's so easy even they can understand. What will there argument be? We like slavery? *sigh*

manufacturing here. Industrial jobs pay better. We need to restart our industrial production using clean energy sources.

If the only jobs available are in restaurants, stores and hospitals, the owners of those kinds of businesses will pay the minimum. College grads are waiting tables and "managing" restaurants at this time. Why bother with an education if all you can earn when you graduate is $8.25 per hour? The investment in time and money is not worth it.

We have to start making things again. And don't bring up that list of American manufacturing companies. It's a great list, but it isn't anywhere near long enough and the companies on it don't market anywhere near well enough.

That $2.13 an hour is the minimum wage for "tipped" workers. It has not been increased in 22 years.

A few places have passed laws requiring that waitstaff be paid more per hour, but the majority of waiters and waitresses just get $2.13.

I worked retail for 10 years. Even as a manager I didn't know my days off week to week. It sucks.
