A man who told police that he had a pipe bomb in the back of his car “to blow up his ex-wife” has pleaded guilty in Sarpy County to unlawful possession of explosives.

Preston H. Steele, 49, is set to be sentenced for the felony in July.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped a charge of possessing an explosive device.

According to an arrest warrant, he was pulled over in Sarpy County last June, and his 2002 Ford Mustang was towed.

In other words, is there something in the direction of "planning to commit murder" that this guy could be charged with?
