Shame on the media.

Amanda Berry wants to speak, but the chaotic mess in front of the house is atrocious.

That family needs a spokesperson who can help them with logistics.

She needs a private sit-down somewhere AWAY from the hyenas who just want to scream inane questions at her so they can get a byline..

she knew that she was in the media. Maybe it gave her hope that people still searched for her.

her off..

That's why she needs a quiet place WITHOUT the press-frenzy...just her and a microphone/camera, and let her tell her story.. NO stupid questions.

Actually, she has a compelling story to tell, and she ought to be represented legally, so she can tell it to advantage her and her daughter...and tell it HER way...in her own time..

It's obvious that this family is not very "savvy", and has probably been so overwhelmed by the whole ordeal.

“We are elated, this is a happy ending,” she said, as the crowd began cheering and clapping.

“Our family would request privacy so my sister, niece and I have time to recover,” she said, referring to the 6-year-old she’d just met for the first time. “We appreciate all you have done for us throughout the past 10 years. Please respect our privacy until we are ready to make our statements. And thank you.”

This whole thing must be so overwhelming for the poor young women. The reporters were like vultures.

all the media is trying to get an exclusive
the normal ones (Katie,Diane,Matt Lauer,etc.)

May be best to not go to any of them as they have ulterior motives to get ratings.

Perhaps then someone like Michelle, and they can have one camera that feeds it to all the networks.

Maybe a kindly policewoman or a psychologist who would know how to talk to her..
and then release the tape to all at once..

Michelle Obama would be totally inappropriate in this situation. Why the fuck would you think that's the way to go?

batshit suggestion from you. What else we expect?

If I were her, I'd want some time away from everything to reconnect with family, get some rest, and start healing from my decade-long ordeal. I'm sure that she may want to dish about her experience at some point but I would think that it would be too traumatic for her (and the others) right now to attempt to recount her experiences in public right now, especially with having only recently escaped and with memories of her ordeal still fresh and raw.

the whole family could go to a retreat somewhere...all alone & reconnect BEFORE the onslaught..

It's never enough for the press to just report what they know, and to wait for the ones involved to speak.. They simply must chase them down like prey and then ask the most outrageous stuff..
