Fear Them – The Prison Industrial Complex – Unelected, Untouchable, Uncontested

" From reports, the entrance was what one imagines of a drug lord who isn’t used to waiting for a table in Guadalajara. Only this was in Washington.

Stepping out of the elevator, a wedge of body guards shoved people out of the way, one pinning a cameraman against the wall.

“You don’t have jurisdiction here,” the cameraman protested.

But of course, the National Rifle Association sets his own rules. Mr. Big had come to lecture Congress last January. Wherever he — and you — may be, you will get out of Wayne LaPierre’s way.

Doesn’t matter if a vast majority of Americans don’t buy what he shills. He will meet his quota on Capitol Hill.

Of course, what he does is hardly unusual. The NRA is one of any number of entities that comport themselves as their own branches of government, and whose officials govern their own protectorates. It’s all about money."

"And so we return to the unelected sheiks of the gun cartel, their flowing gowns, their gusher-style fiscal resources. As in the sand-blown Third World, politically they control whole provinces. They are the law, because they have the guns, and the money. And who will stand in their way?

1. It is your very worst enemy.

You don't want to know that. You don't want to find out even more. You don't really want to admit it at all. If you did, it would be too uncomfortable and the ramifications would be overwhelming if you tried to put it in some perspective that made it seem less threatening.

So, you come across article after article amidst the sea of threatening and depressing news that tends to cast your fate in dire directions. The ones like these might tend to stand out because you realize where it can go if nothing is done. You think about your wonderful children and how good and intelligent and loving they are, but you suspect that they could easily become food, in one way or another, for this profit machine, rather than free, self-actualized and fulfilled adults. You clench your fists and feel your heart sink. You feel a sense of foreboding and terror.

Then, you think about your grandchildren to be, or the ones you already have. And you know they may be sucked, crying and screaming and in total, abject despair, into that huge, gaping, hungry mouth that is the personification of profit that enslaves and eats whatever will feed its need to have or own.

That's when the articles about this problem no longer pass by to be replaced by something else in the churning mill of the news cycle. That's when you start to shiver and break out in bit of sweat knowing that there's a monster at the door and it is knocking and you know what it really wants from you and yours. There is no question then that you really have to pay attention and do something or die, leaving a legacy of captivity to those you love most.

How could Americans have allowed this monstrous juggernaut to destroy so many families in the interest of profit -- largely populated by the War On Some Drugs?

I'd like to see a map of where these monstrousities are located and the governing bodies that sanctioned their presence.
