Marijuana Found In Damaged West Home, Resident Charged

WEST (May 10, 2013)—Fred Taylor, 54, of West, was free on bond Friday after he was charged with possession of marijuana over 4 ounces, but under 5 pounds.

Taylor whose home was heavily damaged in the deadly April 17 explosion at West Fertilizer Co., turned himself in Thursday.

The charge stems from the discovery of 16 marijuana plants, which were found as Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents conducted a damage inspection.

The plants were all more than 6 feet in height, authorities said.
