How likely is it that a President Clinton or President Biden will take a harder line stance on the Bush administration, from Bush on down, for their 9/11 failures, taking us to war based on lies, and war crimes committed?
The Obama administrations have proven to be hesitant to take any actions in this respect, but I wonder whether a third in a row Democratic presidency will breathe new life into these options.

Everyone associated with the 9/11 response is still walking free.

(13,390 posts)I wouldn't label them accomplices though. The hard fact is it was legally implemented via the legislative process. The US has no standing to prosecute the war or anything that was legally justified. The international community on the other hand did not pass those laws but, they can only find cause to prosecute war crimes based on the international conventions to which we are party.
Maybe Geneva treaty violations, but I think our lawmakers were most likely clever enough to avoid them.
We should never forget that everything Hitler did was legal, and our eye should be on the legislative process when our government considers war.
