I like Chris.... but I liked him better on Saturday mornings. I just miss my nightly Ed show.

(39,308 posts)I'm a sucker for the burly Ed thing. Chris is very well meaning but I'm generationally challenged or something. The upside is that I appreciate Rachel more. Maybe he'll get better when he relaxes down the line.

(28,394 posts)We sure did miss you! The show is great today!
He invited cancer patients who do not have insurance to contact him and he will feature (one or more?-- not sure) on his show in the future. He is still fighting the good fight.

(19,803 posts)saw online the 5pm/8pm show (Hayes) is pulling down the entire MSNBC line up, he is a weak lead in for Rachel and her ratings ae down 7%. Chris is a morning or weekend show. We havent watched it since Ed left and then we forget Rachel is on because we are already watching something else .Wake up MSNBC.

I had to watch Rachel this morning on-line because they ran this Jodi Arias special instead of the usual Rachel repeat early Saturday morning. Many people I talk to only get MSNBC online this way.

(37,648 posts)at that early time. People are still doing their weekend things at 4, often. Even I, who wanted to watch...didn't occur to me until it was 5 p.m.
I'll see if I can watch it online, but that's a lot of trouble.

(30,540 posts)be on for 2 hours both Saturday and Sunday for a total of 4 hours not just 2 hours over both days. Ed is getting screwed and so are Ed's fans.

(39,909 posts)stereotyping "Liberals" as :
*hate America
*hate freedom
*wimpy
*limousine riding
*bow tie wearing
*latte drinking
*gun hating
*effeminate
*pasty complexion
*run from a fight
... clones of Alan Colmes.
Ed has done a lot to dispel that stereotype, and given more Mid-Westerners permission to vote FOR The Democrats with his
Two Fisted, Hard Working, Freedom Loving, Gun Toting, Red Meat Eating, Democrat
campaign.
Ed never really appealed to me, but I always appreciated his work.
Oh Yes! Ed is the most Pro-UNION broadcaster I have ever heard.
SOLIDARITY!

(4,667 posts)The audience decline for MSNBC at 8pm has been shocking. I wonder if MSNBC will realize they made a mistake.
I know Ed didn't fit the image MSNBC wanted to have going forward. But Democrats already have a reputation as being smart, nerdy, educated, Northeasterners. I'm not sure we needed to add more fuel to the fire with Chris Hayes.
Ed spoke to a group of people we desperately need to improve with: Working class whites. He did a good job explaining how working class whites benefit more economically from liberal policies. He cut through the B.S. to explain to them to vote "pocket book issues" instead of "god, guns and gays."
I wish Ed well with his new show.

(2,825 posts)And yes, Chris Hayes seems to fit that "latte drinking" stereotype. Nice enough guy, but we need more
blue collar people in the Democratic party.
