CLEVELAND, Ohio -- West 25th Street was a sea of red this afternoon as hundreds of people marched in support of Michelle Knight and all the "missing children of the city."
The marchers also supported Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus, the women held captive with Knight for about a decade in a house on Seymour Avenue, but noted that Berry and DeJesus had the kind of strong family support that Knight lacked.
Jesse Clark of Cleveland's Old Brooklyn neighborhood, said she never met Knight, but feels a kinship toward her. She said the marchers wore red because it is a symbol of courage.
"The other girls have large families and loving homes to go to," she said as the crowd gathered outside MetroHealth Medical Center around 3 p.m. "This march is for all three girls, but mainly to show Michelle that she is not alone. She has all of Cleveland for her family."

OP
I am very heartened that there has also been a petition to reunite Knight with her son.

That the people of Cleveland see that she needs so much help and care about her, and the privacy of all of them, is good. The road to come will be very hard for all of them, and now they begin.

(53,661 posts)3. Much more news about Knight:
Ohio kidnap victim Michelle Knight to be 'adopted' by and live with family of fellow captive Gina DeJesus after refusing to see her mother after release from hospital
Michelle Knight, who is now 32, is pictured as a teenager before her disappearance in 2002
'She was Georginas sister for ten years in that house and shes still her sister now,' Ms Collins said...
'Michelle doesnt want to go back to her own family because they abused her before she was kidnapped and they only want the money now...'
'Theyre a loving family, a giving family. Felix and Nancy will take care of her and make sure she gets the helps she needs,' Ms Collins said...

The family appears to be trying to force her to go with them to Florida, with the mother going to court to get access to her. She had been gang raped by three boys at high school and there are differing stories at the link.
