After all, you're on company property and doing a mandated thing. Amazon should pay for their justified paranoia. Literally.

Pay for the time on the floor, including the check point, or hire enough people to run checkpoints that would allow their staff to leave in a reasonable amount of time, 10 minutes tops.

That isn't the only problem they have and much of their problems are managerial. They need to fire the psychopaths.

Psychopathic whip cracking bosses don't make people work harder. They just encourage sabotage.

about how much it would cost the company either way. Pay for the long checkpoints or pay for more security staff to shorten wait times so it isn't so much of an inconvenience. Employee morale should also factor into this.

I'm disappointed in that co. to hear this.

Hope they win the lawsuit. Too bad it had to come to this. A demand for payment should've been enough.

Tough job. So that's how they get things in the mail so fast.

I am surprised that so many do seem to love Amazon, though.

These employees should clearly be paid for being forced to wait in the checkout line.

That's the place I found the generic nicotine gum that isn't yucky sweet.

I've also bought books and used movies that I couldn't find locally (and I live in a big city). But I have limited time to run around browsing in brick & mortar stores.

Most of the things I've bought, though, have come from private sellers, who sell through Amazon. So my stuff hasn't come from the warehouse. Except maybe for one thing...a dvd player I bought as a gift.

But what I DON'T do is go look at stuff in brick & mortar stores, then buy from Amazon or other online stores. I don't waste the salespersons' time that way. And I actually prefer buying from local stores where I can take something back, bring it home right away, etc.

Those awful scummy lawyers... working to ensure that workers are paid for their time. Just who do they think they are?

continually try to screw workers out of their time. I think they should be required to pay a fine on top of the make-up wages to the workers, just because they wouldn't do the right thing without being sued first. Maybe a hefty fine would help discourage other companies from doing the same thing.
