Here she is with her big brother Ashley watching over her...I think he's more attached to her than she is to him, although at times he needs to walk away because she is constant play mode until she conks out.
No problem with the breathing or the eyes, although I will continue the antibiotics until the bottle's done, probably the end of this week. My vet volunteers at the monthly free spay and neuter clinic, which is this Sunday, which I'll be at and ask him about her. Since she's doing so well, I doubt he'll need to see her, so the next visit will be in about a month for her shots.
Thanks for all the good wishes.

(3,891 posts)Is when their eyes first open. You walk in, they look at your feet, and slowly their vision climbs your entire length. As they reach the top, there is a squeal, or other vocal explosion of alarm, and they start to run. I refer to that as the day of monsters from the kittens point of view.

The little girl is looking good. Rescue kittens are different throughout their lifetimes - very personable and affectionate, but frequently they have more moxie and assertiveness with people. It's almost as if they have a different conception of themselves in relationship to the two-leggers.

(56,177 posts)He was also found at 4 weeks and the person who found him was going to get him bigger and then put him back with the feral colony...I said NO!!! He was such a great cat even then I knew he needed a good home.

(2,015 posts)My little "darling" ended up having emergency surgery when she was 4 months old because she was eating the hair out of my hair brush (and a few bristles for good measure) and it caused a blockage.
She's fine now but still crazy, she will try to eat anything. The vet said she acts more like a puppy than a kitten.
Oh and I almost forgot to add your new baby is precious

(56,177 posts)Mine so far is just getting into things like clothes and shoes and linen and clawing and chewing...maybe she thinks she's a puppy also???

(34,095 posts)What a lucky little one she is with her equally lucky big brother.
My tamed feral is sitting at my left elbow right now rubbing his head against my arm. The other two rescues are sitting in their cat tree looking out the window. There are about 6 more feral cats that I have counted roaming around my farm. They get fed but will not get the chance to come in. Don't think they want to actually Rescues make such wonderful pets.
Have fun, this all makes me so happy.

(56,177 posts)She now always wants to play and even though Ashley is usually up for it, sometimes he just walks away and watches her go nuts with anything in her line of view!
I have a few I feed where I live...one obviously was a pet at one point, but very skittish...tried to take her in, but she jumped off the patio she was so freaked out when the door closed...she's been outside for at elast 3 years, but she gets fed morning and night so it's not too awful.

(111,163 posts)and congratulations on those pictures, I know most of them are likely of a fuzzy black blur.
Just be sure you make sure where she is before you leave the house. I once had a kitten try to hitch a ride in my lunch bag. To this day, I don't know how she got in there.
I think house cats tend to do best two at a time. Ashley is likely thrilled to have a member of his own species for a playmate and is willing to act like the proud papa until she grows up.

(56,177 posts)Ashley I ahd to worry about sneaking out when he was younger...a couple times all of a sudden I noticed he was gone and went outside...he's always been close by, but still...

(204,779 posts)That's also been my experience. I adopt from rescue and my guys seem to find me... And I've never been disappointed.

(56,177 posts)Hopefully I can catch the mom and any siblings...don't think I can keep the others, but if she had upper respiratory, they all probably did...I'll try to adopt those out...I think I know who Mom is and she is very, very feral, so all I can do is get her fixed.

(204,779 posts)You are doing a wonderful thing, you know. Wish I could lend you my friend who has caught cats for the SPCA. I brought my last cat inside from outside, took me feeding her for four months and a have-a-heart trap to finally bring her in and get her to the vet. When she needed a recheck, my friend had to come into my house to catch her for me, though I had her and all her things in one room. And she bit him! *sigh*
Turned out my cat wasn't a feral, had somehow escaped from a woman on the next street who moved, poor thing. Once she had necessary dental surgery, she calmed down a lot, preferred sitting in the window rather than ever going outside again.

(4,452 posts)My neighbor called me down to help her deal with a strange animal that wouldn't let her in the house. Turns out it was a grey male tabby about a year old. Friendly as all get out looked very much like my 10 y/o Bengal. She wasn't too friendly at first but within a day they were chasing each other around the house and yard and fighting over which one would get to sleep on my face.
I really don't need another mouth to feed but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to give him a better life than what he left.
