BREAKING: Chiquito Fire 40 acres, 20% contained Sierra N.F. North of Mammoth Pool

REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
If you look at Zappaman's snarky comment history, this is really a pathetic attempt to make fun of Nadin's SoCal fire posts -- he's obsessed with Nadin, for some reason, and seems to have plenty of time on his hands to follow her posts around....
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon May 13, 2013, 01:16 PM, and the Jury voted 2-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I might suggest Nadin is obsessed with San Diego fires. Can't have a double standard allowing her posts and striking this one, can we?
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: I've noticed that behavior.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Without the benefit of being able to read the poster's mind and therefore their intent, I cannot vote to hide this post. The post by itself is non-offensive.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Maybe. But this post doesn't call out nadin. It's about a fire. There have been multiple post about fires for two weeks now. Either they all go, or not.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: What the poster said may or may not be true; but it seems to go past the level of a jury on one post into the level of the mods if it is true that the poster is following another member making fun of their posts.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: I think this is an issue for the Administrators or MIRT... There is nothing in the post itself that warrants a hide... but I am going to vote to hide it...if there is no fire, and I couldn't find a report of one during a quick search...then Zappaman is an ass.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(45,319 posts)cares about and reports about such fires. Because they do not care for that poster, the OP and others find wildfires which destroy thousands of homes and burn acres of forest each year to be suitable fodder for their petty amusements.
A fire like this one, where it is located will be as we speak causing upheaval and death uncountable among the wildlife there. These posters think it is all about them, and cliquish bully games they play on the internet from other countries and unnamed States. California burns, they laugh. Good stuff.

(45,319 posts)In your view, how many houses or people should burn before it is discussed by the CA public?
Brother Buzz
(36,407 posts)And that's what I suggested to Nadine. She took my advice and started posting PSA's. How she read what I suggested is beyond my comprehension as I was informed by her, in a terse PM, I'm on her IGGY list.
While that grassland fire was raging there were three fires burning (two of the smaller ones later merged into one) in my area, the largest burned for three days. One house was destroyed, and a few others experienced fire damage. Just local media coverage. More houses might have burned if firemen didn't think it vital, lifesaving, and important to invest a lot of effort educating the public of the of dangers and how to protect property, face to face and through PSA's; it a BIG part of their job.

A jury voted 4/2 Leave It Alone

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
Posting jury results went away when 'meta' went.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon May 13, 2013, 01:59 PM, and the Jury voted 0-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I wasn't aware of a prohibition against posting jury results, and in the grand scheme it doesn't seem especially disruptive. I say leave it.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I agree with Sekhmet's Daughter re the stalking of Nadin by Zappaman and his post is not clever enough to hide what he intended. Disagree with the alerter, stalking of posters should be highlighted no matter how clever the stalker thinks s/he is.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Alerters contention is not correct. People post jury results all the time.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I can't tell what in the hell is going on here. I can't find any specific prohibition against posting jury results. There is not enough context in that thread, nor in the alerter's explanation, to tell me exactly what the infraction(s) are supposed to be. So, to ensure that I am fair, I vote to leave it, and yes I probably am an idiot.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I hadn't heard anything against posting jury results. I imagine these results will be posted as well.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: You kids play nice or go get a parent, er I mean Mod to settle this.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
